WALK WITH A PURPOSE - More and more GPAR dogs are getting adopted each year, but some of them are struggling to fit the bill as pets as they have had limited experience of a loving family. One way we are trying to ease the transition from neglected street dog to family pet is by improving lead walking skills. Would you like to come and walk a dog at the refuge in Rute? If you feel you could assist the dogs with exercise, training and some human interaction for an hour a week in a small group, get in touch with us.
The dogs are all shapes and sizes with a temperament to suit any walker, no matter your previous experience. We have a number of very large dogs who require men to help walk them so if you are a big strong man we would love to welcome you to our group. The group meets after walking for a coffe and a chat too so it's a great way to make new friends and socialise.
Leads, collars and harnesses are all provided. Contact: Jo Gloyn or Muriel Hardy via private message on Facebook. ... ...MoreLess
EASYFUNDING - is easy to join, using the web link below and it won't cost you a penny, but it will raise money for GPAR. We are registered as Grupo de Proteccion Animal de Rute so search on that if you want to help us this way. You can then relax knowing you have helped our dogs and cats.
